FAQ

Questions & context.

How are jobs matched to my resume?+

Each new posting gets scored against your master resume: how much of what the role asks for you can already show, nudged by the preferences you set. That score is what the list is sorted by, and the card names the required skills you're missing.

What does the ATS score represent?+

Two numbers, kept apart on purpose. Match is how well your background fits the role. ATS readiness is how well one particular resume is written for that posting, shown before and after tailoring. Both are directional. Neither guarantees a ranking or an interview.

What is a weekend build?+

A project brief for a skill your matches keep asking for and your resume doesn't show. Four to six milestones with checkpoints, a README skeleton, and the phrases it earns you. Finish it, log what you built, and the resume entry is drafted for you to edit and accept.

Does hackATS invent experience or qualifications?+

No. Tailoring reorders and rewords what you've actually done. A weekend build only adds a skill once you've built something with it. Read and edit every output before you send it.

How do credits work?+

One credit wallet powers tailoring, cover letters, and LinkedIn rewrites. New accounts start with 10 free credits, and free credits are topped back up to 5 each month. A tailored resume uses 3 credits; a cover letter uses 2; a LinkedIn rewrite uses 10. Resume parsing, LinkedIn scoring, and PDF download stay free.

Will using this get my application flagged?+

There is nothing to detect. hackATS reorders and rewords your own experience for the role and renders an ordinary PDF. No hidden text, no white-on-white keywords, no metadata tricks. Those get applications rejected, which is why we don't use them.

What happens to my resume and the jobs I look at?+

Your master resume and generated documents are stored on your account so you can come back to them. They are used to produce your own outputs, not to train a shared model. You can delete your account and its documents at any time. The Privacy policy has the full detail.
